MSNBC’s “Great Escapes”

In 2003 we began to develop online travel projects with MSNBC, the joint venture between Microsoft and NBC that gives you one of cable's most successful news networks. Once again we're working with Richard Bangs, co-consipirator at TerraQuest, Mungo Park, and Slate's Well Traveled.

Visit the latest Great EscapesFor Great Escapes, we provide digital photography, copywriting and editing, media production, and Web building using MSNBC's in-house publishing tools. These projects, past present and future, are entertaining popular Internet audiences online with dispatches, slide shows, audio and video features and more interactives. Take a trip to one of the destinations below and enjoy a Great Escape.

Go to New Guinea

DIGITAL VILLAGE: NEW GUINEA
From Australia's Daintree National Park into the heart of Papua New Guinea, we sought out some of the world's most isolated people, bringing them digital cameras to document their own lives. An intriguing project, sponsored by Hewlett-Packard. (December 2004)

FORDING THE MIGHTY MO'
Follow the paddle-path of Lewis & Clark - in reverse. From the source of the Missouri to the meeting of waters with the Mississippi, a "hybrid expedition" transecting America sponsored by Ford's Escape Hybrid. (September 2004)

ESCAPE TO THE LONE STAR STATE
To paraphrase Mark Twain, everyone complains about Texas, but no one does anything about it. We did, traveling from the Alamo to Big Bend and enjoying the best of Texas along the way. Sponsored by Texas Tourism. (January 2004)

Rocky Mountain adventures

ROCKY MOUNTAIN DECATHLON
Take ten adventures in ten days, from rafting to cattle ranching to summer skiing, mix with micro-brews and mountain biking, blend with hot-air ballooning and ancient ruins, bake and serve. Sponsored by Colorado Travel and Tourism. (June 2003)
